St Tydfil's Church, Merthyr Tydfil
The parish church of Merthyr Tydfil, and the reason the town has its name: Tydfil was an early Christian woman said to have been killed for her faith, and “Merthyr” marks her as a martyr. The present building is largely Victorian, on a site of worship far older. Open to visitors, and barely 200 metres from Merthyr Tydfil station.
