L. Robson & Sons is the last working smokehouse in Craster, curing herring over slow oak fires in the traditional way to make the kippers the village is famous for. There’s a shop to take some home and a restaurant on the harbour to eat them fresh, right next to the Jolly Fisherman. Alnmouth station is about 9km south.
