Embleton sits a little back from the coast behind the dunes of Embleton Bay, a curve of sand with the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle at its southern end and a golf links running along the shore. The village itself has a couple of pubs and a fine medieval church. Walk south along the beach and you can carry on to Craster; Low Newton-by-the-Sea is a short way north.
