Vast golden sands beneath the great castle.
A vast, pale sweep of sand runs for well over a mile beneath Bamburgh Castle, with the Farne Islands and Holy Island out on the horizon. It’s open at all hours and rarely feels crowded, thanks to its sheer size, and the dunes give shelter when the wind’s up. The village of Bamburgh sits right behind. A gorgeous beach in almost any weather.
