Beadnell curls around a small harbour — unusually, the only one facing west on this coast — where a cluster of 18th-century lime kilns still stands by the water, now looked after by the National Trust. The sheltered bay and long golden beach make it a favourite for kayaking, sailing and diving. Seahouses is a couple of miles up the coast for Farne Islands trips. Chathill station is about 5km inland.
