St Gregory’s church here carries the tallest spire in Warwickshire, over 200 feet, seen across the Stour valley from a good way off. The church is far older than the spire suggests: Saxon windows survive high in the nave walls, from a building of around the 9th century. The village itself is quiet stone and brick, a couple of miles from Shipston-on-Stour.
