Still home to the family that has owned it since 1924, Honington Hall is a handsome Carolean house of 1682 above the River Stour, with an 18th-century garden of yew hedges, urns and a riverside loggia. The house itself stays private, but the grounds open a handful of days a year for the National Garden Scheme. All Saints Church next door, built by the same family that raised the hall, is open daily. Shipston-on-Stour is a couple of miles south.
