Halfway up Pateley Bridge’s steep high street stands the Oldest Sweet Shop in England, trading since 1827 and holding a Guinness record for it. The stone-built town is the main centre of Nidderdale, with an old-fashioned high street, a small folk museum and the Nidderdale Show each September. Up on the moor above, the Coldstones Cut viewpoint looks down into a working quarry. Ramsgill lies up the dale.
