Despite the name, there’s no station at the Station Hotel these days — it’s a friendly Nidderdale village pub at Birstwith, with a garden and rooms, tucked in the fields north-west of Harrogate. A good base for quiet walks along the River Nidd. Harrogate Station, about 7km to the south-east, is the nearest you’ll get by train.
