Chef Shaun Rankin’s tasting menu, a ‘Taste of Home’ built almost entirely from Yorkshire produce, served inside a lavishly restored country hall near Ripon. The setting is all grand rooms and manicured grounds. A meal makes a fine cap to a visit to the great Cistercian ruins of Fountains Abbey and the water gardens of Studley Royal a short way east, or the strange rock stacks of Brimham.
