Ripley is an estate village rebuilt in the 1820s in the style of a village in Alsace, cobbled square and all, with a Hotel de Ville that serves as the town hall. It sits at the gates of Ripley Castle, still the seat of the Ingilby family, with All Saints’ Church beside it. Harrogate station is about 6km to the south.
