Kilchattan Bay is a crescent of Victorian villas around a sandy bay at the southern end of the Isle of Bute. It’s the start (or end) of the West Island Way, Bute’s coast-and-hill walking route, and a short walk south brings you to the ruined St Blane’s Chapel in its sheltered hollow. Reach it at the end of the A844, having crossed to Bute by the ferry from Wemyss Bay to Rothesay or the short hop from Colintraive.
