The Largs seafront makes an easy walk out to the Pencil, a tall tapering monument marking the 1263 Battle of Largs, where Alexander III’s forces saw off a Norwegian fleet. Cumbrae sits just across the water, and there’s Nardini’s for ice cream on the way. Largs station is right by the front.
