The Cathedral of the Isles at Millport is the smallest cathedral in Britain, designed by William Butterfield and opened in 1851. It’s a jewel of a building — a tall spire over a tiny nave, with the richly tiled and painted interior typical of Butterfield’s Gothic Revival work. Free to visit, on the Isle of Cumbrae, reached by the Largs ferry.
