Wemyss Bay Station is worth a look even if you’re not catching a train. Designed by James Miller for the Caledonian Railway and opened in 1903, it’s a Category A listed building whose curving glass-and-steel canopy funnels you straight down the covered ramp to the pier. From there the CalMac ferry crosses to Rothesay on Bute, so the whole thing was built as one smooth handover from rail to boat. Still a working station, and free to wander.
