Gourock is a seaside town at the mouth of the Clyde, wrapped along the shore west of Greenock. It’s the rail terminus down here, with ferries across to Dunoon and the Cowal peninsula, and it keeps an outdoor pool from 1909, a heated saltwater lido that still opens through the summer. A gorgeous spot to arrive by train and step almost straight onto a boat. Gourock station is a few minutes from the front.
