Ardencraig is a walled show garden run by the council above Rothesay, growing plants for the island’s displays. Alongside the greenhouses there are aviaries and ornamental fish ponds, which makes it an easy, low-key visit with kids. It’s up Ardencraig Road on Bute; the ferry lands at Rothesay from Wemyss Bay.
