One of the prettiest estate villages in the county: thatched ironstone cottages set back among trees, restored to a picture-book state by the Great Tew estate. The Falkland Arms is a beamed, tankard-hung pub at its centre, and St Michael’s church stands up the hill behind. The village is a conservation area you explore on foot.
