Beer has been brewed at Hook Norton since 1849, and the tall Victorian brewhouse, where grain and water work their way down floor by floor, is reckoned among the finest of its kind left in the country. A steam engine still survives inside and shire horses make local deliveries. Tours run through the working brewery; the museum in the old maltings is free. It sits in the ironstone village of Hook Norton.
