A Palladian mansion north of Woodstock, not far from Blenheim Palace, built around 1722 to James Gibbs’s design for the Earl of Lichfield, with interiors by William Kent and Henry Flitcroft. It’s now the home of the Ditchley Foundation, which runs it as a conference centre for Anglo-American affairs, so the house and its formal grounds are private and not open for general visiting. Charlbury is the nearest station, roughly 4km west.
