For most of the year Cornbury’s gates stay shut — a private Wychwood Forest estate along the Evenlode, with a walled deer park and no public access to the house. The parkland opens mainly for events, above all the Wilderness Festival each August, and a permissive cycle route crosses it from spring to autumn. Charlbury station sits just outside the estate, barely a kilometre from the entrance.
