The Cook and Barker Inn stands on the hill at Newton-on-the-Moor, with wide views over the coastal plain and a kitchen that cooks a lot of its own farm’s produce. It’s a long-running dining pub with rooms, popular enough that booking is wise at weekends. Acklington station is about 6km south-east.
