Warkworth Beach is a broad, dune-backed sweep of sand just beyond the loop of the River Coquet, reached over the dunes from the golf-club road below Warkworth village and its castle. It stays quiet and wide even near high tide, with Amble and its harbour a short way south. A good bet for a long, blustery walk with the sea to yourself.
