Druridge Bay is a seven-mile arc of dune-backed sand running from Amble down to Cresswell, so broad that even in high summer you can find an empty stretch. Behind the dunes lies a string of nature reserves and flooded former opencast pools, Druridge Pools and East Chevington among them, all good for birdwatching. Access is open, with car parks at Druridge Bay Country Park and along the shore.
