The Britannia sits right on the little green at Elterwater, its front tables looking out towards the tarn and the Langdale fells. A whitewashed old inn at the heart of the village, it’s a favourite pause on walks around Loughrigg and Elter Water itself. Food is served, and it gets very busy on fine weekends, so arrive early if you want a garden seat.
