Colwith Force is a wooded 40-foot waterfall dropping in several stages on the River Brathay in Little Langdale. It’s one of the more easily reached Lakeland falls — a short woodland path off the lane brings you to a viewing spot part way down, though tree roots and damp rock can make the descent slippery. A good quiet stop if the bigger-name falls are heaving. Windermere station is about 10km to the east.
