Little Langdale is the quieter neighbour of Great Langdale, a green valley of old farms and slate tracks running up towards Blea Tarn and the high passes over to Coniston and Wrynose. Slater’s Bridge, a slim packhorse span across the beck, is the picture everyone stops for. It’s open access, with limited parking, so many walkers arrive on foot from Great Langdale or by way of Cathedral Cave. Narrow lanes, so go steady if you’re driving.
