Youngsbury is a Grade II house above the River Rib near Wadesmill, its 97 acres of parkland touched by Capability Brown, who visited briefly and left a belt of trees, a beech clump and blocks of woodland still traceable today. The house was bought in 2017 and restored, with the family moving back in 2023, so it’s a private home now. Hertfordshire Gardens Trust runs occasional guided walks through the Brown landscape — worth checking their events page before you go. The Feathers Inn is just up the road in Wadesmill.
