St Peter’s is Burnley’s ancient parish church, tucked below the town centre. There was a church here before 1122, though most of what stands now came from a rebuilding in the 1530s, with the lower tower the oldest surviving part. It’s a quiet survivor amid the modern town. Towneley Park and its hall are a mile or so to the south-east if you’re making a day of it. Burnley Central station is close by.
