St Nicholas is the grand old church of New Romney, Norman at its core with a tall west tower. The great storm of 1287 that wrecked the town’s harbour flooded the church too, and a silt tidemark from it can still be traced on the pillars of the nave. Usually open daily. The nearest station is Appledore, about 10km to the north-west.
