Appledore is a single broad street of tile-hung and weatherboarded houses on the edge of Romney Marsh, sitting beside the Royal Military Canal. It’s a quiet place to walk the canal towpath or stop for lunch, and the Gusbourne vineyard is just outside the village. Appledore station is about 2km east, on the Ashford–Hastings Marshlink line.
