All Saints at Brixworth is the largest Anglo-Saxon church still standing in England, and among the oldest, its tall round-headed arches turned from reused Roman brick thought to have been carted from ruins at Leicester and Towcester. The building goes back to the Saxon period, when a monastery stood here. It sits above Brixworth village and Pitsford reservoir and is open to visitors. Northampton station is about 11km to the south.
