The last great battle of the Civil War was fought just south of Naseby on 14 June 1645, when Parliament’s New Model Army broke the King’s field army for good. The upland village stands near the source of the Avon, on some of the highest ground in the Midlands. There’s no visitor centre, but the battlefield is signposted with viewing platforms and information boards, and guided tours run around the June anniversary.
