On 14 June 1645 the New Model Army under Fairfax, with Cromwell leading the cavalry, broke the main Royalist field army here—the turning point of the Civil War. The battlefield is farmland north of the village of Naseby, with monuments and viewpoints marking the ground and footpaths that let you walk the lines. Market Harborough station is about 11km to the north-east.
