Balmedie Beach is a long stretch of sand backed by high dunes, part of Balmedie Country Park just north of Aberdeen. It runs for miles — great for a blowy walk — with boardwalks over the dunes from the car park and views south towards the city. Free and open at any hour; Dyce station is about 11km inland, so most people arrive by car.
