The Brig o’ Balgownie is a steep, single-arched medieval bridge over the Don at the northern edge of Old Aberdeen, reckoned among the oldest bridges in Scotland. It’s a lovely quiet corner — the old bridge, a slow bend of the river and a huddle of cottages — and you can still walk across it. Easily paired with Seaton Park and St Machar’s Cathedral nearby. Free and open.
