The Udny Arms is a hotel bar overlooking the Ythan estuary at Newburgh, and it has a nice claim to fame: it’s one of the places said to have invented sticky toffee pudding, back in the 1960s. The origin is disputed, but that’s excuse enough to order pudding. The estuary out front is a great spot for birdwatching too. Dyce station is about 17km south-west.
