Thelnetham’s tower mill dates from 1819 and had fallen derelict by the 1920s. Enthusiasts bought it in 1979 and had it grinding again by 1987; on open days the sails turn and stoneground flour is sold from the granary. It’s one of only four preserved tower mills in Suffolk, out on the fen near the Norfolk border, and run by the same trust as Pakenham Water Mill.
