Eye is a small market town built around a steep motte, the earthwork of a Norman castle you can climb for the view. Below it stand a timber guildhall and the church of St Peter and St Paul, whose flint tower is among the most admired in Suffolk. Diss station, just over the Norfolk border, is about 6km north.
