Alan Bloom moved to Bressingham in 1946 and invented the free-standing island bed here, setting hardy perennials in open lawn rather than against a wall. His Dell Garden still shows the idea off, and the site doubles as a steam museum, with narrow-gauge lines carrying visitors round the grounds. Paid entry. Diss station is about 5km to the east.
