Pakenham is said to be the only village in Britain with a working windmill and a working watermill both still turning. The windmill is a five-storey brick tower of 1831, restored to working order, standing across the village from Pakenham Water Mill. It’s privately owned on a farm, so opening is limited — worth checking ahead. Thurston station is about 5km to the south.
