Reputedly Britain’s smallest pub, the Nutshell is a single room barely fifteen feet by seven in the middle of Bury St Edmunds, and holds the Guinness record for the title. It has poured beer since the 1870s, and the ceiling and walls are crammed with curiosities — a mummified cat among them. Bury St Edmunds station is about a kilometre north.
