Scaleber Force tumbles about 40 feet into a wooded ravine just up the hill from Settle. It’s an easy one to find — a roadside lay-by sits almost above it — but the path down to the pool is short, steep and often slippery, so take care at the bottom. Like most Dales falls it comes into its own after rain, when the beck fills the gorge properly. Settle station is only a couple of kilometres away to the west.
