The Golden Lion is a handsome coaching inn on the market place at Settle, the busy little town on the Settle–Carlisle railway. It champions local producers and real ales, and has rooms upstairs. Best of all, Settle’s own station is a two-minute walk — ideal for a car-free Dales weekend.
