An estate village south of Stratford, its brick and timbered cottages grouped around a green. St Mary’s church was remodelled in Georgian-Gothic style in the 1750s and keeps a set of much older Flemish stained glass. The village is part of the Alscot estate, which has shaped its tidy, all-of-a-piece look.
