The medieval clapper bridge at Postbridge — great granite slabs laid across stone piers over the East Dart — is the best known on Dartmoor, thought to date from the 13th century. The hamlet around it is scattered over open moor near the centre of the National Park. The high, isolated Warren House Inn stands a few miles north-east on the Moretonhampstead road.
