At Dartmeet the East and West Dart rivers join on open moorland, beside the granite piers of a medieval clapper bridge that a flood long ago swept apart. It’s an easy-to-reach beauty spot right by the road, with parking, a café and shallow water for paddling, so it gets busy in summer. Postbridge and its own famous clapper bridge lie a few miles north.
