Come for a wild swim in the flooded pit of Foggintor, a disused granite quarry out on the moor west of Princetown. Still, deep water fills the workings, ringed by spoil heaps and the roofless shells of the quarrymen’s cottages. It’s a level walk of about a mile and a half in along an old tramway track from the road. Cold water and no facilities, so go prepared.
