Pocklington is a small market town on the western edge of the Wolds, best known for Burnby Hall Gardens — lakes famous for their water lilies, at their best in summer, set in Victorian grounds with a small museum. The town has an old market place and makes a decent base for the Yorkshire Wolds Way. Howden, the nearest station, is a fair way to the south.
