Bishop Wilton spreads along a broad, sloping green with a beck running beside the road, tucked under the western scarp of the Wolds. Its Norman church was lavishly restored by the Victorians and is worth a look inside for its decorated interior. It’s a quiet, tidy village handy for walks up onto the Yorkshire Wolds Way. There’s no station nearby, so come by car.
